2013-04-28. Cone flower in bloom. Processed with Topaz Black and White Effects. The color version is in my flower gallery.

ADDED NOTE on 4/29: This (#10 spot) photo marks the end of my 6th month in the Daily Community. I know there are gaps and many of my pictures are off as I have a long way to go. I am grateful to you all for inspiring me to take better pictures. This has been an unforgettable experience. Now it's time to take a break and take care of my family.

01-07-2013. Oil and Water Abstract. This was my first attempt at this and it was fun!
For color I placed one DVD on a table around 6 inches underneath a clear glass shallow plate which was straddled on top of two boxes. Added a thin layer of water to the plate and dropped oil into the water. Used a table lamp for light. Camera was tripod-mounted facing down and I used a macro lens.

2013-4-10. "More Please?" This squirrel seemed to be politely asking if he/she may have some seed from the bird's feeder.

12-17-2012. Friendship. Willow Friendship figurine placed around 3 ft. in front of the Christmas tree and 3 ft. in front of the camera. Used a tripod.

2013-04-08. Flowers and a Vase. This is a multiple exposure image made inside the camera. I shot the vase first then the colorful weeds and the two files were merged into one.

I appreciate your comments on my tiny fly and Cincy mural. The fly photo moved into the second most popular spot in my gallery and is my favorite (next to the grandkids of course :))

Hercules. This is an older photo from the summer. At only around 2 mm, he hung out at my house for a couple weeks. Seemed like he was always bugging me to take his picture.

The weekend with the grand kids went great, but Noah, the 9 month old decided not to sleep much Saturday night, waiting up for Mom. Though I loved every minute of time with them, wouldn't trade it for the world!

2013-03-30. Riding Lawn Mower. I've been wanting to stop and shoot this barn for a while so I was grateful when my mother-in-law agreed to go with me to this location which is around the corner from where she lives. My thoughts were that she would stop along the road and I would snap a few shots while inside the car then leave. But power lines were obstructing the view so she pulled into the driveway and I got out and took several shots. I have passed by this barn many times but never took the opportunity to stop until yesterday.

11-27-2012. Labor of Love. Every year around this time with the exception of last year, our neighbor is out in his yard weeks in advance working to set up this wonderful display. Last year he switched over to LED lights and became frustrated with them so they never went up. This shot was hand held and I think I should have used a tripod with a longer exposure and a smaller aperture maybe? I want to try again as soon as he is finished working on it. Any suggestions are appreciated.

2013-03-28. Senetti Pericallis. This effect was achieved by zooming the lens while pressing the shutter. Shot at a relatively slow speed.

01-01-2013. Two Birds. Shot through the window on a blustery day in December. This is probably more than a 50% crop. I thought I would fill in the gap between the birds with well wishes for the new year!
